Distance, route and drive time
Pamukkale is 240 km northwest of Antalya via the D650 over the Taurus mountains. A private car covers it in 3 hours each way; tour buses take 4–4.5 hours with pickup loops and rest stops.
Private transfer pricing (2026)
- One-way Antalya → Pamukkale: €200 fixed (sedan or Vito).
- Same-day return with 4–5 hours waiting: €280–€320 total.
- Overnight option: drop-off day 1, pickup day 2 after the morning light on the terraces — €360.
Compare: two seats on a group bus tour cost €70–€90 — but you get fixed 45-minute slots at each stop and 2+ hours of hotel pickups.
The ideal day-trip timetable
- 06:30 — leave Antalya (hotel pickup).

- 09:30–13:00 — terraces, Hierapolis theatre, Cleopatra's pool.
- 13:00–14:00 — lunch in Pamukkale village.
- 14:00 — depart; back in Antalya by 17:30.
What to bring
Swimwear (Cleopatra's pool is 36°C thermal water), a bag for your shoes — the terraces are barefoot-only — sunscreen, and cash for the €30 entrance fee. In winter the terraces are open and blissfully empty; the water stays warm.
